The Tennessee Supreme Court issued an opinion on April 26, 2010 concerning Crawford v Washington and hearsay. The opinion reversed the Court of Criminal Appeals. The opinion State v Franklin is in the resources folder or by the link below. It is mandatory reading for all Prosecutors concerning the 4th Amendment.

Slots Still Available for the NDAA Trial Advocacy I CourseCategory: Training
The National District Attorneys Association has some slots remaining for the July 12-16 Trial Advocacy I course at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, SC. The course is designed for prosecutors with 1-3 years experience in the prosecutor office and includes faculty presentations and demonstrations, discussion workshops, and videotaped trial advocacy exercises in our courtrooms.
NDAA will pay up to $550.00 for travel expenses and five nights lodging at the Advocacy center which includes breakfast, lunch, and two refreshment breaks. There is no tuition for the course.
Prosecutors interested in attending should go to the NDAA website ( www.ndaa.org ) and register for the courses. If you have questions, email Jan Bilton, NDAA registrar, at jbilton@ndaa.org or phone her at 803.705.5050.

DUI 5th Offense Conviction for Brooklyn MartinCategory: From the Courtroom
In Bradley County, Tennessee, a jury convicted Glenn Benson of DUI 5th offense, Driving on a revoked license second offense and open container on April 20th. After the verdict, his appeal bond was set at $75,000 and he was remanded to jail. Congratulations to Assistant District Attorney Brooklyn Martin, who represented the people of the State of Tennessee.
