The Department of Safety has released preliminary data indicating that 74 persons died on Tennessee Highways in May 2010. The update depicts fatality numbers by county.

White House Drug Control Policy Document is Available

We have added the new Drug Control Policy, issued by the White House to the public on May 15th, to the Resources section. One of the priorities is to reduce drugged driving episodes by 10% in the next five years.

Now available in the Resources section is the "Hardcore Drunk Driving Community Supervision Guide" a resource outlining probation and parole challenges, effective strategies and model programs. The guide was developed by members of the American Probation and Parole Association with the Century Council.

New Supreme Court Case: Tennessee v Franklin

The Tennessee Supreme Court issued an opinion on April 26, 2010 concerning Crawford v Washington and hearsay. The opinion reversed the Court of Criminal Appeals. The opinion State v Franklin is in the resources folder or by the link below. It is mandatory reading for all Prosecutors concerning the 4th Amendment.
